Mooville

Me and my sisters are doing a writing project called Mooville. It’s a writing course. Today we did the first assignment which was to create a character for a story we are doing in the other assignments. For our character we made it about a funny pig. I made it not not realistic because in the story my pig is 5000 years old and is a police pig! And also she loves to chase bad guys and walk them with her cane.

Her name is Granny! And her best friend is called Grandpa Rooster. The writing course is helpful because it asks you a bunch of questions to help you make your character. Another question was what’s her favourite food. We thought it would be funny to say “mud soup with corn in it.”

This writing course is helpful if you struggle with writing stories. It makes you go step by step to plan out your story. When all of us are done we are going to have fun eating popcorn and reading our stories to each other.

If dinosaurs were alive instead of animals…

If dinosaurs were alive instead of animals, I would have one for my pet. I would have a big long-neck dinosaur–the biggest you can get. Instead of a long neck dinosaur, a giraffe would be extinct and instead of a tyrannosaurus rex a bulldog would be extinct. Instead of dog food there would be dinosaur crunch. But the problem would be: “Now how would you fit them into your house?!”

Magic Tree House

The Magic Tree House books are great. I like them because the stories are really fun and adventurous. Also the club for Magic Tree House is really fun. They also have Magic Tree House plays. The person who wrote the books is called Mary Pope Osborne.

The main characters in the story are some kids called Jack and Annie. They are brother and sister. Annie is very imaginative and Jack is really smart, and they often have to save each other. For example, once they were trapped in a castle and Annie remembered that there were no flashlights in the medieval times, and that she had one. She flashed it at the guards and said,”This is my magic wand! Step back!” So the bad guys got scared and ran away.

There are fact-trackers about the Magic Tree House Book–with real facts about the places that Jack and Annie go to. I read books where they went on adventures with dinosaurs, ninjas, medieval times, pirates, the rainforest, mummies, the ice age, and the moon! Jack and Annie are modern kids from our time, but they get to travel to different times. I really love these books and I think you should read them, too! They are good for kids about age 7-10.
